When you take a sparring stance called gyeorugi jase, don't face your opponent straight on. Since the majority of your target areas are in front, it makes more sense to turn your front hip slightly to the side. This way you may keep your stomach out of the direct line of fire. And keep your center of gravity fairly evenly distributed so that you can kick with either the front or back leg. Also, keep your knees slightly bent and bounce back and forth a little on the balls of your feet for that extra reserve of power. And don't just bounce in one spot but move in and out repeatedly and unleash the reserved power instantly against your opponent when you see an opening in his or her target areas.
